Here is a list of the Top 12 Consumer Electronics and Technology products that we found at 2007 CES in Las Vegas.

We looked for fun products that we liked and would buy ourselves or for gifts.


AT&T U-Verse
AT&T U-verse IPTV Service as in the CES2007

This is an exciting new TV alternative to Cable TV or Satellite TV. AT&T IPTV is being rolled out across the country in 2007 and 2008. AT&T U-verse TV will provide:

  • An HD DVR with 4-channels of recording
  • Picture-in-picture Channel Surfing
  • Super-Fast Channel Changing
  • Detailed Program Information off the Web
  • All Digital sharp Video Channels
  • Remote TV Access over Web
  • Excellent Program Search
  • 25 HD Channels Initially
  • Up to 300 Total Channels

The AT&T product demonstrations were fantastic compared to our current Comcast DVR solution.


Kodak Digital Picture Frames
Kodak Easyshare Digital Picture Frames or Photo Frames

The Digital Picture Frame product lines have greatly improved this year. Now that a large majority of the population has a stand-alone digital camera and/or a mobile phone digital camera...you need a digital place to show off your photos in the home or office.

Expect these products to fly off the shelves during the 2007 Holiday Season.

Remember ....Printing your photos is so 1990s. Now you can share them on a Web Service, an iPod MP3 Player, an HDTV, a Mobile Phone... or now a Digital Picture Frame.

The new Kodak EASYSHARE Digital Picture Frame Line is one of the better quality lines at a reasonable price. They include the following features:

  • Slim Remote control
  • Memory Card Readers
  • Built-in 128 MB of Memory
  • Built-in MP3 Music Player
  • Built-in Stereo Speakers
  • Bright Sharp 7", 8" or 10" LCD Screens
  • WiFi Connections to PC or Mac - Optional
  • Hang-on-the-wall hook

Shipped in March 2007 with a retail price range of $129-$279.


HP MediaSmart Server
HP Media Server at CES 2007 - Hewlett-Packard Server

The Media Server PCs have greatly improved this year. The servers allow you to share your photos, home videos, movies, music and Internet IP-TV and Internet Radio on TVs throughout the home or office.

The HP Server will ship with the new Microsoft Windows Home Server Operating System - announced at the show by Bill Gates. It will help consumers deal with managing media across multiple PCs and Devices.

HP had one of the better looking digital media servers at the show. The HP Server has all the standard features, plus a few nice extras.

  • Stream content directly to your home entertainment center using a digital media adapter (DMA)
  • Enjoy digital music, photos, video and files from any networked PC
  • Automatic backup for multiple PCs
  • Central file storage & Management on one PC
  • Expansion capacity up to 6TB of storage
  • Utilizes AMD 64-bit processor technology
  • Microsoft Windows Home Server Operating System
  • tap in from an Internet-connected computer anywhere in the world to access your files and applications
  • A quick link to Snapfish allows easy photo printing

HP also announced the new HP SLC376ON MediaSmart High-Definition LCD TV that works with the HP Smartmedia Server above. It won a CES 'Best of Innovations' award in the video display category. More on CES 2007 HP Products

The HP MediaSmart Server is scheduled to ship in Q4 of 2007. Retail price: TBD


LG Flatron 3D TV
LG Electronics 3D TV of the Future

This was a fun stop during the show. LG Electronics demonstrated their 42" 3D HD TV at the CES Show this year. The TV doesn't require 3D nerdy-looking glasses.

The new LG Flatron M4200D 42" LCD display hangs on the wall and looks like a normal HD-TV.

We do not have shipping or pricing information at this time.


Nokia N76 Mobile Phone
Nokia N76 Mobile Phone - Competes with the Motorola Moto Razr

The new sleek body Nokia N76 mobile phone is HOT. It is positioned to compete with the Motorola Razr phone and the Apple iPod. Some of its features include:

  • A dedicated quick cover keys with one-touch music keys
  • The Display is 2.4" with up to 16 million colors
  • An FM Radio is built-in
  • Snap that unexpected photo moment without having to open up the device.
  • Share photos using Yahoo Flickr
  • 2.0 megapixel (1600 x 1200 pixels) camera
  • Up to 2GB of expandable microSD card memory
  • Symbian OS

The phone is scheduled to ship in Europe in Q2. Retail price is TBD.

2006 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas - CES Top Products

This was one of our favorite products at the show. The Ultra thin MP3 player is an excellent alternative to the Apple iPod Nano. Some of the hot features include:

  • Super slim size
    - just 0.27 inches thick
  • The 1.8-inch OLED display which lights up in icy blue and white to reveal a full navigational array
  • Touchscreen controls
  • 25 hours of battery life
  • FM tuner
  • Support for MP3, WMA, DRM10, PlaysForSure and JPEG formats
  • Flash-based digital audio player with 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB versions
  • Optional $50 speaker dock

It was first shipped in March 2007. The retail price was $120 to $210.

WowWee Dragonfly Robot from CES 2007

The robot gurus over at WowWee have done it again with their remote-controlled flying Dragonfly Robot. It is an amazing thing to see and play with (for a child or an adult). Shipping in March-April 2007. The list price is $50.


Sandisk Sansa Connect
Sandisk Sansa Connect MP3 Player with WiFi from the CES 2007 Show

The sleek and compact Sandisk Sansa Connect 4 GB MP3 Player (SDMX8N-4096K-A70) caught our attention as soon as we held it in our hands. It is a very small and very easy to use MP3 (WMA & WMA Protected) Player and Internet radio.

The MP3 player uses built-in WiFi wireless technology to grab music and photos from hot spots without connecting to a PC or Mac.

The WiFi connection is a step up from the Microsoft Zune

The player comes with 4GB of flash memory and offers an microSD™ card slot to add more. List price is $249. Shipped in April 2007

Sharp 108" LCD HDTV
Sharp 108" LCD HDTV - World's Largest LCD TV

Sharp rolled out a prototype of the world's largest LCD HDTV at CES 2007. The TV has a 108-inch LCD screen, which measures
93.9-inches wide by 52.9-inches high, with pixels: 2.07 million pixels (1,920 x 1,080 pixels).


EOS Wireless iPod Speaker System for the Whole House
iPod Wireless Speaker System

A great Apple iPod audio system for the whole house. The core system features a base docking station/transmitter with one wireless satellite stereo speaker. The Eos wireless satellite speakers boast two high-performance stereo drivers and a ported subwoofer - up to 4 speakers, including one that's weatherproof.

The retail price is estimated to be $299 for the core system and $149 for each additional Remote Speaker. The units first shipped in March 2007.

The Skype VOIP Phone Network (an eBay Company) is now used by over 171 million users around the world. With this phone you don't need your PC to use the service.

The Netgear SPH200D phone allows you to have one wireless handset that will switch between your Skype Service and one regular land-line. The reviews are very positive.
